Brandon Dalo is a composer for film, television, video games and other media based in Los Angeles. His work spans major studio films, television, animation, music technology, theme-park attractions, podcasts, and award-winning documentary features.
Brandon has contributed to the music departments of critically acclaimed projects including The Color Purple (Warner Bros), Jordan Peele’s Nope (Universal), The Lost City (Paramount), DC’s Stargirl (The CW), Destiny 2 (Bungie), and the Disneyland ride The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse.
He worked as an assistant to ASCAP Award–winning, Annie Award–nominated composer Jim Lang (Hey Arnold!) on Disney’s animated series Primos and Apple TV+’s Not A Box. He also assisted cellist and composer Tina Guo (Dune, Wonder Woman, Kung Fu Panda) on various projects, and worked for orchestrator and composer Jordan Cox (Wicked, Despicable Me 4, How To Train Your Dragon), contributing additional music to the animated series FriendZSpace and other projects.
Brandon is best known for composing the original scores for over 17 feature documentaries in the hit Prime series Small Town Monsters over the last ten years, including The Mothman of Point Pleasant, which broke into Amazon’s Top 10 horror movies upon release. His score for Boggy Creek Monster, in this series, earned him honors for Best Film Score at HIIDA. Brandon’s music appears often on the Small Town Monsters YouTube channel, which has over 250,000 subscribers.
He has also scored numerous narrative short films including Zenith, for which he won the “Best Sound” award from the Independent Shorts Awards. Brandon composed the theme music for the popular paranormal podcast Monstro Bizarro and recently wrote the theme music for The Basic Show, a podcast from Basic Magazine, a quarterly fashion and lifestyle brand with over 118,000 Instagram followers, proving his growing presence in high-profile branded audio media.
In the music technology space, Brandon worked with the acclaimed sample library company Cinesamples, where he contributed demo writing, beta testing, and support for libraries including Drums of War 3, Apocalyptica, Voces8, Industry Brass, and the Musio platform. He has also worked as a sound designer and tester for Impact Soundworks, Silen Audio, and Naroth Audio.
His music has been placed globally through library and label partnerships with Two Myles Music, Current Music, Silen Audio, and Ear Parade. His tracks have appeared in productions such as SAS Australia, Discovery’s Twisted Sisters and Twisted Love (produced by Khloé Kardashian), and international series like the K-drama Kill It.
Originally from the Cleveland, Ohio area, Brandon earned his Bachelor’s in Music Composition (Scoring for Visual Media) with honors from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, where he was selected as class Valedictorian. He is a member of ASCAP.
